"MONGOLIA - Ulaanbaatar" Ulaanbaatar by wilda08

In the morning of the 28th of September we arrived to Ulaanbaatar. We had a 20 minutes stop here and some of the tourists on the train got off the train. We met a danish guy, Mads, on the train and he got off to spend 3 days here.
We continued through the Gobi-dessert....

Later in the afternoon we stoped in the middle of nowhere.
It was really hot.
Later in the evening we arrived at the chineese border.
That was a weired place....

At the border they split the train in three or four different sections.
They lifted each section of wagons up in the air and change the wheels.
We told us that we were not aloud to take photos during the wheel-changing, but I took this photo anyway.
This wheel-changing-operation took a few hours (including going through customs and having our passports checked).
We also had to fill in a form with different questions like if we had fever, if we had a cold or if we coughed. Later a "doctor" came to collect the papers. He read them and stamped them.
That was our first SARS control.
