Rugged ruins & breezy countryside ...

by Mara88 - last update: Jun 8, 2003

Failte ...

View from Ullapool Harbour, North West Scotland
... welcome to my little world of the most wonderful castle ruins, rugged hillsides and the wilderness of Scotland!

Have started with the north (east & west) & will endeavour to get some southern Scottish places as well in the future.

When you see the pics of shiny lochs and windswept hills under menacingly dark, heavy skies, you might just catch a whiff of a chilly sea breeze in your face & marvel at the silence around you!

The wild & windy weather here make you really appreciate the most famous local produce - a good wee dram ... whisky, of course!!!

Scotland

Travelling across the rugged coasts of Western Scotland is surely a great experience for every outdoors fan - fresh air, gorgeous scenery and beastly midges!!

The many castles & ruins are not to be missed out...

Dublin and Western Ireland

Dublin is one of the most exciting cities in Europe. Loads of nightly entertainment in pubs & clubs, plenty of museums & historic sites - and great folks!

Travelling up the west coast from Cork is very adventurous. Life is more simple, but there's always a gig in a country pub, sheep on the road & the odd forlorn looking phone box! Brilliant for relaxing, leisurely trips. Don't rush, please!!

Glad you liked reading about "my" Stockholm. If you come in February be prepared for it to be cold, it is usually the coldest time of the year - but it will mean that you can go skating - both on rinks downtown and on frozen lakes.

Thanks for the compliments on our little tigress ;) Let me know when you'll be visiting Uppsala so that we can meet (if you want, of course) :)
