Apart one big city, the capital of the region (Perugia) the charme of this centrally located region is in the beauty of the country and hill side, history, art that small villages has with such an abundance, that many countrie may envy.

There are indeed a lot of medieval gems, small villages with a "midlle age" look still intact (and original).

A roman temple.... now turned into a churh!

I discovered that nearly all of them developed on early roman (B.C.) villages (and that's no surprise) but (and that i didn't suspect, many of them has, well on display or discrtely hidden, still have a lot of roman building, manufact, walls and remains

Anyway, there are so many spots worth a visit that, only picking a few, you may "get lost" on where to go.
I would like to start this "regional" page pointing with every tip to a single village/location. All of them deserve its own page and tips, i have many things to say and many pics from my recen trip to publish... but as always the time isn't enough. Hope to find soon the time to build my "specific" pages. I will post here the link for the reader ....
The only Umbria page i had before the last visit was on Orvieto.
