Bratislava is the largest town in Slovakia with its population almost half a million. The town is situated on both banks of the Danube River. I have to say, it is not my favourite town, because of its crowded trams and the communistic housing estates in Bratislava outskirts.
The historical centre is nice with good restaurants and lively streets. The traditional Slovak cuisine is very tasty and caloric.. A short walk up the hill to visit the Slavin monument gives you a nice view of the city. You can also get up to another hill where you find the TV tower Koliba with its restaurant with even better view.

In Summer in the park near the tower they serve garlic potato pancakes in a small buffet, delicious with beer :)
