Kalgoorlie - Boulder ,towns amalaganated in 1989 to become one local authority and city.
It is a minning city with aprox. 50 operating mines over 25 being gold, 8 nickel mines also copper, silver, granite,chrysoprase,gypsum. lime , salt and sands.
This was day 6 & 7 of our trip after leaving Perth,Margaret River, Pemberton, Albany and Esperance and have now driven some 1967ks. |

A great page. A facinating place Kalgoorlie, wonderful old buildings (makes you wonder), plenty of history and not a lot to do there I guess but you did a wonderful job. Thank you. |
