Dufftown, located in Banffshire, Scotland is smack in the middle of the Malt Whisky Trail, in an area known for whisky called the Speyside.

It is also home to the Glenfiddich Distillery - where the high-status Highland single malt Scotch whisky is distilled, matured and bottled.

A cute little town, it is worth coming here to visit & see for yourself how one of Scotland's exceptional produce is actually produced .. whether you are a fan of whisky or not, the experience is interesting - if you're in Scotland, this is one of the things you should experience .. after all, the Scots are known for their whisky ;-)

Besides, the entrance is free & a very comprehensive tour of the distillery with a tour-guide is provided, including free sampling of the whisky.

If you're a whisky fan, all the more you should visit because it is cheaper to purchase their whisky from here (of course!) & there are many collectibles.

If that still doesn´t convince you, Dufftown is also a place you can visit for the Highland Games, which basically is very much a part of the Scottish tradition.
