This city was formerly at the heart of communism and was also perceived as a frightening place to visit.
Nowadays, it is fast adopting capitalism and if they authorities ever decide to make visa application easier, it could easily become as popular as places like Prague.
My girlfriend lives in Moscow so I've been a frequent visitor here since late 2002 so the tips are a mixture of tourist and residence experiences. |

Russian Language At first the cyrillic text of the Russian language can be almost frightening. One of the most useful translation websites I've found is Prompt Online Translation It's a free service which allows you to translate, single words, blocks of texts and even web pages.
