Sharm Holiday Hotel and other Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

The Sharm Holiday Hotel is based slightly away from the centre but it is still within walking distance from the town.

We came here as part of a package holiday with a Russian travel company and although the hotel was said to be 4 Star, I would say it is definitely at the lower end of 4 Star, possibly 3 Star.

Generally all facilities were pretty good but it wasn't peak season.

It's a pretty good hotel and a lot bigger than you would expect it to be looking at the front of it.

The location is excellent, especially for us as I was diving with Emperors Divers which is located next door.

Unique Qualities: I counted at least 4 swimming pools in the hotel, there is also a night club, internet cafe, shops, a bar and most of the things you would need from a hotel including a cash machine at the front.

I wasn't impressed with the standard of food served at breakfast and by the end of the week I had decided to sleep for an extra 30 minutes instead of eating. Apart from that, everything was great.

I've stayed here a couple of times. The first time, we were upgrade to a suite as at the time, I was a Hilton Honours Gold Card holder. The suite was very nice. It was an individual building located close to reception. The only bad mark against it was that the bathroom was not as modern as it could have been. We we upgraded so it wasn't a problem but had we paid for a suite, I don't think I'd have been too impressed.

The second time we stayed there, we stayed in a standard guest room. The rooms were nice enough although I think the standard rooms in the Marriot (just down the beach) were probably nicer.

The private hotel beach is good and there is a reasonable choice available at breakfast.
