" The Executivo Bus" Airport Bus to Pelourhino Airport Bus Review

Salvador airport into town you can go by : taxi, executivo, or city bus. Taxi, of course, is the most expensive, about $18 -20 US$ when we were there in Jan 04.
The Executivo Bus was about R$2.70. it is a mini bus and can be caught right outside the airport .
The end-of-the-line for the executivo is Praca da Se, at the entrance to Pelourinho, the old colonial city center. The fare for the executivo bus is either be collected along the way by a fare-collector, or collected by the bus-driver when you get off. Best to have small change.
tip: there is a place for luggage in the back underneath the bus. You might have to let the driver know yu are aware of this or else you get on with your luggage and have to try and lift it over the turnstile (like they use in the metros) and make a complete idiot of yourself in the process (like we did). If you know where you are staying you can take a short taxi ride from the Praca de Se where the bus lets you off and you will save yourself a bundle of money. We arrived at dark and found this worked well.
You can reverse the trip but leave yourself a good hour when going to the airport.
