Saint John is New Brunswick's largest city, population wise, but Moncton is a close rival, and may surpass S.J. in the very near future.
A recent study found that residents of Saint John were the happiest in the country. This study, sponsored by the Canadian Inst. for Advanced Research and released through the Univ. of British Columbia, was based on almost 100,000 responses to StatsCan's Ethnic Diversity Survey of 2002 and the General Social Survey of 2003.
Saint John is a port city, and home to the Irving Oil empire.
Saint John's main tourist attraction is probably the Reversing Falls, which is where the Saint John River spills out into the Bay of Fundy. |
