West Union Travel Guide: 1 reviews and 3 photos

West Union is the tiny county seat of Doddridge County in the mountains of northern West Virginia. The county was established in 1845 from Harrison, Tyler, Ritchie, and Lewis counties and named for Philip Doddridge, lawyer, congessman, and statesman from western Virginia, before Virginia and West Virginia were split into two states.

West Union and Doddridge County, though sparcely populated, are considered to be a part of the Greater Clarksburg Metropolitan area. At the 2000 census West Union had a population of 802, while there were 7,403 people living in all of Doddridge County.
