| | Most Ohio state parks are in the Virtual Tourist data base, but not Deer Creek, which is near Mount Sterling, Ohio. Until VT adds Deer Creek State Park to their list of places, I will build my pages for the park under Mount Sterling.
Deer Creek State Park lies on the eastern edge of the great till plains of central Ohio, south of Columbus, and is surrounded by agricultural lands. The relatively flat terrain of the park is enhanced by a mixture of fields and woods which encircle the very scenic Deer Creek Lake.
Wildlife abounds in the park. There are many good outdoor recreational opportunities, and also a modern conference center on the shores of Deer Creek Lake.
BTW - there's not a mountain within 100 miles of Mount Sterling. |

nickandchris Thu Nov 8, 2007 17:36 UTC Sounds like my kind of walking - on the flat!!! | CoAir13 Wed Oct 18, 2006 01:44 UTC Nice trip...business AND pleasure! So, there's no Mount in Mt. Sterling? Curious! Another GREAT page! | deecat Fri Oct 13, 2006 13:45 UTC Tell Karen that the photo of her in front of the beautiful tree only adds to her beauty! Loved reading about the park, dam, fishing, hiking, the lodge, the restaurant, & the wedding you officiated. You always capture the "spirit" of the places you travel. | gkitzmil Wed Oct 11, 2006 15:44 UTC Looks like a serene park. I see my friend Johan was your first visitor |
