Harvard is in northwest McHenry County, five miles south of the Wisconsin border, at the intersection of Illinois State Routes 23, 14, 173 and 176. The town was established in 1856, and at it's 150th anniversary, in 2006, has a population of a little over 8,000.

Harvard's claim to fame is that it is the home of Milk Day, the longest ruinning festival in the state of Illinois.

    Do you realize how close you were to where I live when you were in Harvard? I've only been there once myself.
