Danville is located in East Central Illinois 125 miles south of Chicago and 80 miles West of Indianapolis with interstate access to both cities. It is situated on the North Fork of the Vermilion River, about 30 miles west of the Indiana/Illinois state line, and is the seat of Vermilion County.

FYI: The title to this page is incorrect. The comments and photo are of the War Museum, not the County Museum.

I always find it interesting when people get together and make a local historical museum. (An uncle of mine spent his retirement years doing that in Minocqua, Wisconsin.)

Wow, Stephen, I had no idea that you had been to Danville. Informative introduction with great "tidbits". Your photographs certainly captured the Danville look that hasn't changed much, it seems.
