A Secluded Black Sand Beach - Saint Kitts and Nevis

A Secluded Black Sand Beach

A Beach for Every Taste

White sand, black sand, gray sand - you name it - St. Kitts has it all. The black sand beaches reminded me of some I have seen in Hawaii. More than most Caribbean islands, St. Kitts reminds many visitors of the South Pacific. It is obviously a volcanic island, with a rain forest in the highlands, and an abundance of fresh water streams.

As we toured the coastline of St. Kitts I saw numerous small secluded beaches where not a living soul was in sight. These seemed to be the perfect setting for adventure - or romance. There are more developed beaches too, such as Frigate Bay, which offers a variety of water sports. For more seclusion with limited facilities, South Friar's Bay and Turtle Beach are recommended. There's a beach for every taste on St. Kitts.
