This beautiful Banff park was born in 1883 when 3 Canadian Pacific Railway workers found ,or stumbled on a cave containing Hot Springs on the easter slopes of the Alberta Rocky Mountains.
So Canada's first National Park was born ,and it was the Worlds third.The park is 6641 square Kilometers and that is 2564 square miles.
The Park is full of glaciers,forest ,rivers and meadows.The Park is one of the worlds best destination spots. |
|  | This lake is fantastic ,and the view is unbelievable ,to get to this point and have this great view you need to walk up the Bow Summit from your Car it is a 15 -20 minutes walk uphill to reach the summit ,but it is well worth it. The colour of this lake is so beautiful,emerald green,or is it blue ,well you decide, and the mountain view is stunning.
Do not forget a camera ,or run out of film ,and be prepared to walk in the snow, you will see what I mean in the pictures. |
| | This is Moraine Lake and Valley of the Ten Peaks,as you can see there are many mountains with peaks, this lake is a beautiful lake but it is not as nice on my picture ,I have seen beautiful pictures of this lake in better weather conditions also a picture from a higher point would be better .Still this is a beautiful place and it is well worth the drive up here.This lake should not be missed if you visit Banff National Park. |
