Introduction Back in the early 1970s, my family hosted two exchange students. One was from Brazil, and the other from Finland. This was such a neat idea that I became one myself, staying in Horneburg, Germany for a few months.
Later, my family went to visit friends who were living on a military base in Kaiserslatern, Germany. Because of these 2 visits, I knew that one day I'd work in the travel industry. At that time, I thought I'd work at a foreign embassy or as a translator.
My travels have included Europe (France, Germany, Luxembourg, Austria); many of the US states; and in the Caribbean -- to Jamaica, St. Martin, St. Thomas and the Bahamas. Jamaica and St. Martin are my "dream destinations", mainly because of the beaches.
I also like active vacations and visiting natural places, such as the Grand Canyon and other national parks. Hiking and backpacking through forests and canoeing & kayaking are my favorite activities.
Finally, I enjoy festivals, and have been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans a couple of times, in addition to Fantasy Fest in Key West.
In 1994, I opened my own travel agency called Fantastic Voyages. We specialize in Jamaica, resorts with nude beaches/facilities, and cruises, and soon will offer hiking and more active vacations. Not exactly the job I thought I'd have when I was a teenager, but in my opinion, a lot more satisfying! There's nothing like fulfiling others' travel dreams! |
Jamaica This small island country, located just a bit southeast of Cuba, has friendly people, a great climate, exclusive resorts & hotels, beautiful scenery, and the best beaches I've ever experienced!
I've been to Jamaica on several different occasions, and stayed in a variety of all-inclusive hotels. I also produce a festival every September in this country, known as the "Jamaica Rock & Blues Jam". You can learn more about this event at http://www.jamaicabluesjam.com.
If you need information on Jamaica, are planning to visit, or have been yourself, then visit my Jamaica pages to see what this island has to offer! |

Steavis Tue Mar 2, 2004 12:20 UTC Good to see a Hedo veteran on here. It's expensive, a bit shabby and a living cliche - but it's probably the best place on earth! |
