  Off back to Sudan tomorrow. Not quite had your kind of experiences, but different ones after living there since 1968....... .The road from Dongola to Khartoum is now in operation and travel is faster and more pleasant.

  So you enjoyed Sudan? Your extended stay in Wadi Halfa sounds a lot like my experience of the place...I don't think either the boat or the train are ever running on time!! :@P
