(CONTINUED FROM 'CORSICA')

The coastline west was drab, flat and interspaced with unsightly industrial parks until I neared the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains, where I broke away from the main highways and followed minor roads along deep gorges that followed the rivers.

After spending a particularly unpleasant night on a deserted bridge where I received over one hundred mosquito bites, and another camped on top of an ant’s nest, I finally made it to the base of the Pyrenees.

blimey, i remember those gradients up to andorra in the car = yet alone the a bike. great stuff.

another good write up! brrrr electrical storms. .. one day i hope to cycle lots with my kids...that is .. if they ever will
