Strip mining approach to tourism Some of you may already be aware of the real estate boom attacking Key West.Houses are selling for very high prices.Now a condo explosion is happening,hotels,motels,trailer parks and vacant land are all be torn down and gobbled up to make room for million dollar condos destined to sprout up across this 4x2 island.
Better visit Key West while there is still some charm left and the sun and view of the ocean can be seen.Soon only people in the appropriate income bracket will be able to visit and stay here.
Also at the top of the Keys a new overpass is being built to replace the old 18 mile stretch.Be aware this construction may delay driving times down the Keys.This project wont be done until 2009. |
