Jeffery's Bay - Surfers Paradise

by Kurtdhis - last update: Jul 17, 2004

Surfing perfect waves with dolphins, watching whales and their calves playing in the bay, picking up shells, walking along white beaches, galloping your horse along the water’s edge and breathing clean fresh air, this is Jeffrey's Bay, a town where people don’t wear ties and we invite you to take off your shoes. Let the wind take your hair. Play in blue waves.

Situated only 72km from Port Elizabeth, 5 minutes drive off the N2 highway, with the combination of superb climate, the best surfing waves in the world, shells in abundance, safe swimming beaches and every modern convenience – Jeffrey's Bay is a definite must for all visitors.

Our safe swimming beaches make Jeffrey's Bay an ideal family destination. Dolphins are seen almost daily, and from July to October whales rest their tails in our bay. Jeffrey's Bay is part of the MTN Whale Route in the Eastern Cape with a spectacular lookout point situated at Plane Street.
For anglers, Jeffrey's Bay offers some of the finest deep-sea, rock, surf and river angling opportunities. Adventure activities like horse riding, mountain biking, scuba diving, abseiling, blackwater tubing and sandboarding all take place in close proximity. From the beginning of time, man has been fascinated by shells and today still has this firm bond. With over 400 types of shells recorded, Jeffrey's Bay is world renowned for the variety of shells found on its beaches.
