The Biggest Little City in the World

The Reno Arch
In December 2003 I moved to Reno, Nevada. Quite a change for me from rural Alaska. Later the day that I took this image I tried another at night. I didn't feel comfortable standing in the middle of the road like some of the tourists. I was thinking taking a picture of this sign with your friends below it could be placed in VT under the Warnings or Dangers tip section - Don't Get Run Over while taking pictures.
Club-Cal Neva's Walkway At Sunset

The World Through Rose-Colored Glasses

The mirrored-glass of the Club Cal-Neva is very attractive and at sunset it can become much more colorful. Here you can see the American flag and pink-stained clouds reflecting on the walkway between the Cal-Neva parking garages and casinos.

Oceano - Reno's Colorful New Restaurant

The mirrored-glass of the ceiling at the Peppermill Casino's Oceano is the latest pretty place to see in Reno. The grand opening weekend was May 22nd in 2004.

Pros:"I moved here because it is a "little city" - lots to do, but few enough people the traffic wasn't bad."
Cons:"There's a lot of slated development, and the traffic is getting worse. Still smaller than Vegas, but getting "bigger"."
