Genoa has about 30 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The “Pink House” is perhaps the most uniquely colored. The house was built in 1855 and is an example of Gothic Victorian architecture. The walking tour brochure available around town described it to be a residence, and that the home wasn’t painted pink until 1870. At one point the home was owned by Percy and Agnes Scott Train, she being the first curator of the Nevada State Museum and author of ‘Nevada Through Rose-Colored Glasses.’ The windows of the house didn’t seem pink! As of January 2004 the property was up for lease, perhaps you could be the next person to live there or own a business there. |
