Death Valley National Park Travel Guide: 896 reviews and 1,904 photos

I took this picture at the Furnace Creek Visitors Center. However, I swear I've seen the postcard before. I'm thinking some relative has it, somewhere. Anyway, Death Valley has been around as a park of some form forever. I haven't been there for 30 years myself.

This year was special (March 2005) because not only could people see the below sea-level salt flats that Death Valley is famous for...

This year the flowers bloomed in extraordinary numbers. There were billions, trillions, or even more. The valley is upwards of 90 miles long and many miles wide, and each hillside was coated with flowers for as far as the eye could see.

You're a sucker for rocks, I'm a sucker for flowers. Thanks for the note, it really does look like a sea of flowers!
