My Favorite Place On Earth

Denali Reflections on Kashwitna Lake, Alaska
I grew up in Talkeetna Alaska, a short drive from the pull out on the Parks Highway at Kashwitna Lake where I took this photo of Denali one spring evening in about 1997. So I grew up with Mt. McKinely (Denali - the Great One) literally in my backyard. Living in the shadow of Denali was my favorite place to have traveled to so far.

The evening I took this picture I was driving back to Anchorage from Fairbanks. I had to wade around in the muck to take this shot, then drive home barefoot or with wet shoes. This is one of the nicer views I've ever seen of Denali.

It's been years since I've lived in Talkeetna, and now I don't even live in Alaska. But no matter how far I live from Denali, Talkeenta will always be my home.

Romance Author

These days I spend a lot of time traveling online. I enjoy working with graphics arts. I created this image with Poser.

As an ePublished author (soon to be print-published) I spent a lot of time online -- next goal is to create book covers out of some of my travel photos.

Have Suitcase - Will Travel

When I was a little girl I fantasized about having a trunk that had been so many places the entire surface would be covered with stickers. I still haven't been off the North American continent, but at least no one will confuse my suitcase for their own. I started slapping on bumper stickers to identify my hard-side Samsonite from the other's that come down the conveyor belt at baggage.

It's a Mad, Mad World

Young Traveler

Here I am at a very young age fascinated by flags at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Campus. I was a little too young to remember this particular trip (just up to the campus my father was attending from home as I was born in Fairbanks), but I remember when I was a little older asking my mother what flags represented. Her explanation inspired me to want to see the countries and states of the world.
