"Zurich and environs ..." a Zürich Travel Page by Docu2001

There were two reasons to be in Zurich.
First, we were driving from southern Germany to Sestri Levante on the Northern Italian Coast and it was not far out of our way.
The second and more important reason was our friend in Zurich. A unique girl; tall, striking blonde with plucked eyebrows replaced now by fine drawn lines that rolled wildly above her eyes, a beautiful woman whose background was busy with detail. Her father lived at least part of the time near the shadows in the world, while her mother made a life for herself as a woman in business in Zurich, a woman in her element who had a boyfriend decades younger than herself. Our friend had been many things in her short life and she was enthusiastic that night about her latest venture.
We met in the lobby bar of a smart waterfront hotel and drank rich dark coffee against the rush hour buzz of tidy, lively central Zurich. That night we had dinner in the village of Geeren, more about that follows.
