Imbrasos, "the God of the Fertile on the desert island" is known today as Gokceada.it is the island of Poseidon the God of the Sea in Homeros'Illiada.It was first taken into the land of the Ottoman Empire in 1456.Turks,Greeks all lived together in peace about 471 years under the reign of the Ottoman Empire.it was under military accupation by Italians in the Balkan War I st.it was occupied by the British Forces for a little time of period.In 1923, as a result of the Lausanne Treaty it became a Turkish land in act.

Gokceada has boundless,sandy beaches,clean sea and there are churches,mosques,monasteries,old greek houses and modern examples of architecture where the different cultures come together in the island.Also Gokceada is the 4th Island of the world from the point pf plenty of fresh water sources in the world.According to legend the name of Imbros comes from ancient Greek and means "Windy Island".

Island has 9 villages and a township centre.There are Kalekoy,Eski bademli,Yeni bademli,Zeytinlikoy,Tepekoy,Derekoy,Ugurlu,Eselek and Sirinkoy and four of them are under protection.
