Latvia does not have world-famous sites, it is also hardly a country that is to be found amongst the most popular travel destinations. Nevertheless - or maybe because of this - it is worth a second look: As former part of the Soviet Union it is now a country in rapid change and will be soon joining the EU. Traces and scars of the Soviet past can be found almost everywhere in the country, in addition to this Latvia also has to offer some great nature and cultural heritage. Worth a visit!
