Windmill Point Resort

This is a very convenient marina with some problems. I had to call the marina on the phone because they weren't answering the radio, and sometimes they don't answer the phone either. The tide was at +0.9 ft (nearly high) when we went in, and the depth alarm made a lot of noise showing a channel of 5.3 ft. We had only about 5.0 ft at low tide in the slip so we were on the bottom. This was another problem that I had seen with going to this place. (They said that they hadn't yet dredged the channel this year). Unfortunately high tide was going to be at about 0230, and we were afraid that we were not going to be able to get out of the channel in the morning. The other problem with the entrance - it was a sand bottom, not a nice soft mud that we could push through. The docks were very uneven, some boards were higher than others and you had to watch carefully to avoid tripping.

Equipment: Rate for winter $1.10/ft (1 Nov to 1 May) Summer rate $1.35/ft. Has skinny entrance channel. Right off the bay. Electric $6.00. Has washers and showers. Cable at some docks.

Directions: north of Deltaville and south of Fishing Bay on the south side of Windmill Point

Windmill Point has at least one charter boat opperating from there, in addition to the main crab pot boats. The web site says:

Equipment: Also from their website: "The vessel leaves the dock at 7 am and returns at 3 pm and can carry up to 24 people. The vessel is Certified by the US COAST GUARD as to safety and fitness.
"The vessel goes where you desire and will always put you on the fish that is our guarantee. Rooms are available at Windmill Point Marina if you desire. "
