chart/map showing anchorages
The northern end of the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel has created a broad stretch of quiet water removed from the danger of big ship traffic.
Locals refer to this area as Mill Creek, but actually Mill Creek is a VERY small shallow creek beyond the fixed low level bridge to Old Point Comfort
Equipment: Don't anchor where the workboats tie up on the northeast most corner.
You can watch fireworks from here on the fourth of July.
Directions: Pass inside Thimble Shoal light - favor the north side. 1/2 mile past Old Point Comfort light a flashing green "1" marks the entrance. Stay in the channel until after green 3.
