"Fort Custis, a Cemetery and a Lighthouse" Fishermans Island National Wildlife Refuge by grandmaR

The actual name of this place is the Eastern Shore of Virginia Wildlife Refuge. Fisherman's Island is a part of the ESVWR. Fisherman's Island itself is a protected area. We entered the ESVWR to see if we could see the lighthouse that was on an island in the Atlantic off the coast. But we could not.

When I talked to the man at the Administration Office, he gave me a map of the Reserve. There was a historic cemetery on the map and I am interested in cemeteries, so we drove to the parking area and walked down to it.
