We visited the Yorktown one evening after our DIL got off work. My husband, who served on the Yorktown was bitterly disappointed because the ship has been turned into a mishmash with exhibits and displays that were historically inaccurate - airplanes were on display that never flew off of this carrier, there was a similator on board which would not have been there and the like.

He was much happer with the submarine (he also served on subs) because that was so much closer to original

When we came back in 2003, we did not revisit the ships, but we did drive by the new Submarine Cold War Memorial, and I managed to take a picture out of the window of the car.
