We go through Socastee via Socastee Creek at the end of the Pine Island Cut. Socastee Creek joins the Waccamaw River near Enterprise Landing. They have built a high fixed bridge here, but they retain the old swing bridge. It is necessary to call the Socastee bridge on the radio, and so it is necessary to know how to pronounce the name of the town. I always do it wrong.
