MM 200.9 Town Creek Marina

Town Creek is the backside of Beaufort - the town faces on Taylor Creek. When we anchored in Beaufort (inset) we anchored in past this marina, and when we have considered going to a marina in Beaufort, this is the marina we would go to. It looks like they have a restaurant right there, and they give a Boat US discount.

They have a courtesy car for the mile required to go to a market. The only question I have is whether we could get a courtesy car to the museum or if we would have to call a taxi.

Equipment: TRANSIT SLIP RATES Slips: Face dock:
4/1 - 11/30 4/1 - 11/30
Daily per foot: $1.30 $1.50
Weekly per foot: $6.25 $7.00
Monthly per foot: $17.50 $19.25
Discount 25% off BoatUS

Here are a few of our services that we have to offer our customers:
Floating docks - 12' water
Transient dockage
30/50 amp power hookup
Easy docking with no current
Shower and laundry facilities
Gas and Diesel / Pump out station
Courtesy car
Dry Stack Storage
Ship store for your general needs
Fine dining at the Sandbar

MM 202.3 Anchorage in Town Creek

We anchored here in 2000 to the east of the marina in 6+ feet of water. There is a shoal to be avoided on the red side (south) all the way in to the anchorage, but there is plenty of room between the three black and white markers (A, B, and C) for anchoring, although there are permanent moorings there (including a fish bait shack on a raft when we were there) which you have to avoid. There is excellent shelter from all winds.

Anchoring in Taylor Creek will be more difficult as there are many more boats and there are strong currents and it is exposed to wind and wake. Two anchors are recommended.

Equipment: If you want to you can dinghy around under the bridge to the dinghy dock in Taylor Creek. The bascule bridge opens every half hour from 6 a.m. to 10 pm. but it has restricted hours at rush hour and is closed 7:30 to 8:30 am and 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
