But there is also a Morgantown, MARYLAND

From US 301 on the Maryland side

I thought the only thing there is the Mirant Morgantown Generating Station.

I have actually been to the power plant (as an OSHA inspector). US Route 301 goes by Morgantown, MD.

But also in Morgantown is Waverley is a historic home that is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a large five-bay, two story Flemish-bond brick house, that faces the Potomac River. All interior woodwork is characteristic of the Federal period

On September 4, 1938, Franklin D. Roosevelt made a speech in Morgantown. He said, "..For a long time I have felt that, for the good not only of the people of Southern Maryland but also for the good of the people of the United States, there ought to be a through road from Baltimore to Richmond—a cut-off if you like. It would be a road which, at the same time, would open up to the general traveling public-and we are traveling more and more every year—this very wonderful section of our country, a section that is good to look at, that is peopled by good citizens."
