I intended to go to another restaurant which is next to the Sandgates Inn. Unfortunately, I got the Sandgates Inn and the Drift Inn mixed up, so we ended up here in the drizzly rain. After we were done with dinner, the sun came out, and this rainbow appeared.

The end of the road

This area received major damage to the shoreline in Hurricane Isabel in 2003. St. Mary's County announced that the Mechanicsville/Horse Landing (40395 Delabrook Road, at Drift Inn) was one which would get Porta- Potties and roll-off boxes for the deposition of Carpet/Padding, Insulation, Sheetrock, Furniture, Appliances, Textiles and Food Waste (no Yard Waste) by the residents in these affected areas. Horse Landing is in St. Marys County at 382618N, 0763843W. It gets its name from Horse Landing Creek which is a tiny creek that flows from near Maryland Route 6 and Maryland Route 5.
