S/V RosalieAnn at marina
This marina is convenient to town. They have showers, laundry facilities and a small store. There are also pay phones.
We couldn't find a good spot in the anchorage so we gave up and went to St. Augustine Municipal Marina. (It was Sunday, and Oyster Creek is only open on weekdays and the same for Oasis. They could only give us a big slip and it only had 50 amp.
They have no splitters. They also had no diesel until Tuesday 11/27/2001.
Equipment: Their rate list (effective 10/1/01) is $4 to $5/hour (depending on length of boat) $1.15/ft per day, $6.00/ft/week and $10.00/ft/month ($250.00 min.)
Electric is $5.00/day for 30 amp and $8.00/day for 50 amp. It is $45/month for 30 amp non live-aboard or $135/month live aboard with AC. 50 amp is $225/month live-aboard with AC.
Internet connection is $1.50 per session which I thought was outrageous, so if you want to get email it is probably better to walk into town and go to the library where it is free.

Marina and lighthouse from ICW
I have not stayed at this marina. I've just seen it when we come down the ICW. It looks like you'd need a car to get from the marina to the city on land. Bob has refused to consider it because he would have difficulty getting to the marine consignment shop in town. But two sets of friends of ours on boats like ours have stayed there and liked it very well. The book I have says the rates are $1.45/ft ($2.50/ft on holidays) and the electricity is $7.00/ night for 30 amp plus extra for cable. This seems high to me - probably reflects the resort status
Equipment: Their website says: Our Marina features 30 & 50 amp service, cable T.V., 24 hour security, laundry and shower facilities, swimming pool, charter fishing fleet, 20 unit motel, ship's store, and an award winning restaurant and lounge. All this and only 3000 feet to the inlet and Intracoastal Waterway.
Address: 57 Comares Ave.
Directions: on Salt Run on the south side of the harbor entrance.

Looking at town from anchorage
In December 2001, we tried to anchor off the fort in St. Augustine as we had done in 2000, (it was undergoing renovation and you couldn't go into it), but while we could get our anchor to hold fine, there was a little fin keel boat which swung so wildly on the anchor that it swung around and hit us. We moved, but it looked like it was going to happen again with another boat, so we gave up and went in to the Municipal Marina.
This year (2003) when we went down, we saw that they have moved the channel markets out which reduces the area in which you can anchor. Our friends have now anchored on the green side of the channel (away from town) instead of on the red side.
There were about 36 boats anchored south (MM 779.5) of the bridge, but I don't care for that anchorage as well.
Equipment: The Municipal Marina will charge for using their dinghy dock. Dinghy dockage is $5.00 per day and not seven as I thought. ($25/week or $90/month) They say this includes amenities, which I guess are showers and trash disposal.
Internet connection is $1.50 per session which I thought was outrageous.

Leaving the marina in early morning
We like this marina. They give us a Boat US
discount so we paid $1/ft and $4 for 30 amp electric (plus 6% tax). Didn't charge for cable. They have an email connection for marina guests. The restaurant Eddie's Oyster Creek there has been finished and is in business, but is only open Weds to Sunday. If you walk south along the highway, you get to La Cochina which is new has very good food.
Equipment: Normally there is no one there to assist Sat afternoon and all day Sunday. It was $102.82
for two days for a 44 foot boat with 30 amp. the first time we stayed here.
The showers etc were nice. We tried to buy bag ice and they told us to get it from the ice machine on Sat (bring our own bags). But during the week, they sold us bags. THey have floating docks now. We were on the T head. It was such bad weather that we stayed 4 days.
