Mom and eight great grandchildren |
Up to May of 2000, I had not been to DisneyWorld. Quite frankly it wasn't on my wish list of destinations. But my mom wanted to have all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in one place for a reunion. She made reservations for us all to stay at one Disney hotel. It was difficult to get all of us together - she had two daughters, seven grandchildren and at that time she had ten living great grandchildren. One granddaughter and her husband, and one great grandson could not attend.
Since I had a professional meeting (for industrial hygienists) scheduled in Orlando just before my mom had scheduled her reunion, I drove my daughter's car up from Miami, and actually stayed IN Orlando and went to this meeting. It was the last meeting I attended because I've now retired.
I did the Epcot Center dive at that time.
My husband had flown to Miami with me and stayed with my daughter and SIL until the reunion. He drove up with them. He hated Disney, and refused to visit any of the attractions. He stayed in the room and just attended the family meals that we'd arranged.
Not everyone is thrilled with Disney.
