"Island Ring" Marquesas Keys by grandmaR

Marquesas Keys Travel Guide: 2 reviews and 29 photos

The Marquesas are about a third of the way from Key West to the Dry Tortugas. They are a ring of islands, not unlike an atoll. They provide a convenient anchorage for the 70 mile trip.

The problem for sailboats is - most of the water is really shallow, and we can't get into the more protected waters.
