Fisher Island Ferry

FIsher Island was created when Government Cut was dredged out cutting off the end of Miami Beach. In 1925, Miami Beach developer Carl Fisher traded the island to William Vanderbilt in exchange for a 220-foot yacht.

The mansion that Vanderbilt built in 1926 is the centerpiece of an exclusive club that has six restaurants, a par-35 championship golf course, 18 lighted tennis courts, a marina, European-style spa, and a commercial center with a gourmet market, bank and a few shops.

IF you are invited to join it, $100,000 gets you admission to the Fisher Island Club.

Fisher Island can be accessed only by sea or air. There's no bridge. By sea, there is 24 hour ferry service, departing every 15 minutes. Or you can go by heliocopter, or by yacht.
