"Near Vizcaya" Brickell Hammock by grandmaR

Brickell Hammock Travel Guide: 0 reviews and 43 photos

According to a waypoint list, Bricknell Hammock is the closest location to Vizcaya in Miami.

But the primary reason I'm putting a page here is that I just have too darn many photographs of Vizcaya to fit under Miami and I don't want to put them all in tips.

I've been to Vizcaya twice. The second time we was in 2004 (above). The first time was in 1967 when we drove our 1932 Plymouth up from Key West for an antique car event when my two oldest children were 6 and 4. I've had the slides I took at that time digitized.

After you look at the travelogue for additional pictures, you can go back to the Miami Spring 2004 travelogue

A search on the web brings up the information that Brickell Hammock is the home to some Florida tree snails (very pretty ones) and was formerly the home of Argythamnia blodgettii (Common name: Blodgett's silverbush or Blodgett's wild mercury) which has now been extirpated due to development (probably the construction of condos).
