Graduation

Bob's graduation in 1966 from the USNPGS. He's the one in the middle with the tree growing out of the top of his head.

Originally the post graduate education in the Navy was at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. In December 1951, the Postgraduate School moved from Annapolis to the old Del Monte hotel campus in Monterey "lock, stock and wind tunnel."

The Post Graduate School is still in operation. Their website says: On March 24, 2006, 176 students received their diplomas and capped their tours of learning at the Naval Postgraduate School.... The graduates were from all the armed services, and also included 32 Department of Defense civilians and 25 international officers.

Monterey County Fair

The fair is held about the 2nd to 3rd week in August. We went in 1965 and had a good time. Races, rides, food and exhibits.

* Take the Casa Verde Exit off Hwy.1, turn East
* Casa Verde dead ends into Fairground Road in 3 blocks
* Turn Right and take the first parking space you find and follow the signs
* Gate on left hand side of road
Adults $7.00
Seniors 65 and older $6.00
Children 6-12 $3.00
5 and under FREE

Hours of operation are:

Tuesday-Thursday noon - 10:00 pm
Friday noon - 11:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am - 11:00 pm
Sunday 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
