Forrest City Travel Guide: 5 reviews and 36 photos

Forrest City is a city in and the county seat of St. Francis County, Arkansas. It is located on Crowley's Ridge, which rises above the Mississippi Delta. This is a north-south running highland is some three miles wide and 300 feet above sea level. Forrest City was named for General Nathan Bedford Forrest.

I looked in the booklet I got at the Arkanasas Welcome Center and saw that there was a museum in Forrest City - free and open M-F from 10 to 5. We were (according to the GPS) to get here at 4:30 so I figured we'd check out the museum.

We got to the museum OK although the railroad gates were down and the lights flashing right down where we had to turn - due to a truck being on the track and not a train.

But the museum closed early, and so all we could do was look in the windows
