"Chub and Frazier's Hog Cayes" Nichollstown and Berry Islands District by grandmaR

We've been to the Berry Islands three times - twice on our own boat in 2002, and most recently by cruise ship in 2011. VT doesn't have a location for the cruise ship visit which is Coco Cay. Coco Cay is between Great Stirrup and Little Stirrup Cays.

The Berry Islands are a stirrup-shaped chain of cays and islets that lie on the northeastern edge of the Great Bahama Bank between latitudes 25o50'N and 25o22'N. They are bounded on the north and east by the Northwest Providence Channel and on the south by the Tongue of the Ocean. There are roughly 30 large cays and numerous small ones

From Bimini, we sailed across the Grand Bahama Banks to the Berry Islands. We stayed at Frazier's Hog Cay which is semi-attached to Chub Cay. The narrative and tips for that section of the trip are under Fraizer's Hog Cay.

Then on the way back after Bob's heart attack we went to Chub Cay, where we spent his 66th birthday. From here we went to Grand Bahama island. The narrative photos and tips for Chub are under Chub Cay.

In the photo, the gray brown area on the left is Mama Rhoda Rock, where the diving is reported to be good.

• Pros:Very rural area- not many rules and or much crime
• Cons:Few services except at Chub and Great Harbor
• In a nutshell:Overlooked area.
