Jovaninis Cafe: Italian with Bahamian overtones Lucaya-Jovaninis Cafe Review

This is a tiny restaurant in the Lucaya marketplace, so either make reservations or go really early. It is small and informal, but has really good food that is not expensive. The first time we were there, 6 couples were celebrating something, and the table stretched almost the full width of the restaurant. They wanted pictures taken of the whole group, so I did that (4 cameras).

Note: Sometimes this is spelled with a G instead of a J.

Favorite Dish: We both had the seafood spaghetti - shrimp, fish and lobster. It was very good. Then we had peach melba for dessert. Our meal (drinking iced tea) cost us $35.54.

Address: Port Lucaya

Comparison: less expensive than average

Directions: Lucaya Marketplace -you'll find a yellow-sided clapboard house that opens into a charming 38-seat Italian trattoria. Next to the Cyber Cafe

KFC: Freeport Kentucky Fried Chicken Review

We wanted to have lunch in Freeport and couldn't see any place to eat except Burger King, KFC, Subway etc. So we started out on foot to look for a place to eat. A local lady asked if she could help us, and we told her what we wanted. She led us to two local places but they were closed (as in not opening for lunch), so we finally ended up at KFC (after a lot more walking). After lunch, Bob went back to the Winn Dixie, and I followed at my leisure (after getting the map from him) and sat outside and waited for him.

Favorite Dish: Freeport is an industrial city, not a resort.

Comparison: least expensive

Price: less than US$10

Burger King: Fast Food Franchise Burger King Review

When we went into Freeport on the jitney bus and went looking for a marine hardware store, tools and groceries, the Burger King was the first place we saw to eat. We looked everywhere, but were not able to find a local eatery. We didn't actually eat at Burger King, but the best we were able to do was KFC.
