This is the location of the prison

We saw the former prison on our Wildlife tour (Mar Adentro) which circled Isla San Lorenzo and visited the Islas Palominos.

Not Alcatraz - Colonia Penal

The prison and the island it is on have the same name - El Fronton. VT has two locations for the same thing.

This island makes a good prison because like some other island prisons (Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas and Alcatraz)... more travel advice
