* Born : Baltimore MD - 1937 Of course not yet a grandmother !!
* Parents: :Father from Silver Cliff, Colorado, professor of Anatomy in medical school. Mother born in Henderson, NC and brought up in Milbourne PA.
Went camping through the western states at age 10.

* Went to Europe with family at age 12 .

* College : Oberlin in Ohio - degree zoology
* Married :High School sweetheart, USNA graduate.

* 20 years as Navy wife, living in Pensacola FL, New Iberia, LA, Norfolk VA, Monterey CA, Key West FL, Folcroft, PA Greene in western RI, and southern MD .

* 1961-1971 Four Children (still not a grandmother yet but my mom was - see her 1965 trip report starting in New York)

* Coached age group swim teams and was Co-DC of local pony club

* Taught :middle school science for 7 years

* :Worked for a state OSHA in consultation and compliance for 14 years -became a Certified Industrial Hygienist

* First grandchild born in 1980. Youngest grandchild of 10 born in 2001.

* Traveled outside the US to Germany, France, Spain, Portugual, Italy (1964), Gibralter, Tangiers (1992), Victoria, British Columbia (1994), Bermuda (1995), Costa Rica, Barbados (1996), the Virgin Islands (twice 1997), Belize, Cozumel (1998), and Toronto Canada.

In 1998, we bought a sailboat. We did some trips in the Chesapeake in 1999 and 2000 Starting from Ridge

We cruised down the Intercoastal Waterway in 2000-01 including a trip to the Bahamas

My mom, her mom, her granddad, and his mom

Grandchildren

There is a tradition in the family of doing 4 generation pictures. My mom has two 4 generation pictures of herself as a baby with her mom, one with her grandfather and his mom (shown here), and one with her grandmother and her mom. I have one with my mom, my grandmother, and my great grandfather. My oldest daughter has one with me, my mom and my grandfather.
I've tried to get 4 generation pictures with my mom, and each of my 10 grandchildren. In 2004, my 4 children were between 33 and 43 years old. My grandchildren range in age from 28 to 2 years old.

Below is The Latest Four Generations picture. The grandchild in the picture is the one that is now 4.

July 2002, we took a trip to England to visit our oldest daughter who was there on a three year job exchange.

2002-July 18 -Transit strike -Landed at Gatwick. Thursday July 18 to Friday July 19 Big Bus tour.

2002-July 20 (Saturday) British Museum and the London Eye

2002-July 21(Sunday) Greenwich

2002-July 22 (Monday) Took the tube to meet our daughter and she took us to
Salisbury, Stonehenge and Avebury before going to her house in Cheltenham
2002-July 23 (Tuesday) Went to Bath with our grandson.
2002-July 24 (Wednesday) Visited Wales - Llangollen and the aqueduct at Trevor Also stopped at Iron Bridge

2002-July 25 (Thursday) the Canal Museum in Gloucester in preparation for...
2002-July 26 (Friday) We started a narrow boat cruise in Dunhampstead which is so small that it isn't on VT so it is under Droitwich. We continued on July 27, 28 and 29 to Tibberton and Worcester
2002-July 29 (Monday) We stopped off in Bourton on the Water on the way back to Cheltenham

2002-July 30 (Tuesday) We rested, packed and then July31st (Wednesday) flew home arriving 2002-August 1 (Thursday).

2000 Four Generations - 2nd youngest grandchild

We didn't go down the ICW in the fall of 2002. We visited our son in Summerville for Thanksgiving, and for the final trip in 2002 (and the first one in 2003) we visited our Miami daughter at her mountain vacation cabin in NC at Christmas.

Embarked 12-14-07 on NCL Pearl to Samana, Tortola, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, Cozumel and Grand Cayman.

Dec 28th spending a week over New Years in Panama City,FL. Visiting in Frisco TX via Baton Rouge and Shreveport and returned home after staying in the St. Louis area.

3-27-08 Barcelona, Rome, Naples, and Venice.

Short trips July and August 2008 to NC and CT for our granddaughter's wedding, and then a trip in our boat up the Potomac

Nov 3 - Leftg for a trip through the Panama Canal, Manta Ecuador, Trujillo and Lima, Peru, Guayaquil, Ecuador, back through the canal to Costa Rica, San Andrés, and Key West.
