Visit the round village of Oncieu

Oncieu is an original village in the form of an ellipse located between Lyon and Geneve in the region called Bugey.

To get there from Lyon, take the motorway A 42 in the direction of Bourg Geneve, exit in Amberieu en Bugey, then follow the N504 (direction Belley) until St Rambert en Bugey, then take the D34 to arrive in Oncieu.

A few hypotheses about its shape have been put forward but up to now, nobody was able to an explanation. One explanation could be that one of the inhabitants didn't want any houses build on his field and thus, the other people started to build around it ...
