"Return to Paradise..." Manitoulin Island by Canadian_girl

Manitoulin Island Travel Guide: 8 reviews and 10 photos

Okay, 'Paradise' might be stretching it a little, but Manitoulin is definitely a wonderful place to visit. The island is located in the north of Lake Huron, not far from Tobermory. I spent several summers here as a kid on my parents' boat, and was happy to have the opportunity to return for a weekend as a 'grown-up'.

The scenery is fantastic -- gorgeous rock formations & small islands, waterfalls, etc. The water is clear but cold, and in the summer you can go hiking and pick wild blueberries.

Definitely a great place to spend your summer!

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:"Ooooh.... Aaaaah... Look at that view!"
  • Cons:Giant pterodactyl-sized mosquitoes and black flies.
  • In a nutshell:(semi-) Northern Ontario at its best!

Lots of nice description but still no photo. Can't wait until you get hold of a scanner ;)
