Okay, 'Paradise' might be stretching it a little, but Manitoulin is definitely a wonderful place to visit. The island is located in the north of Lake Huron, not far from Tobermory. I spent several summers here as a kid on my parents' boat, and was happy to have the opportunity to return for a weekend as a 'grown-up'.
The scenery is fantastic -- gorgeous rock formations & small islands, waterfalls, etc. The water is clear but cold, and in the summer you can go hiking and pick wild blueberries.
Definitely a great place to spend your summer! |
