the historic heart of Glasgow

Glasgow Cathedral
Glasgow Cathedral sits on the site of the original chapel built by St Mungo, founder of the city in around 500 AD. Surprisingly, not many of Glasgow's inhabitants have actually been in it.
Glasgow's popular landmark!
Glaswegians are cheeky chappies, and no sooner are these traffic cones removed from this statue of the Duke of Wellington outside the Gallery of Modern Art, than they quickly reappear again. I'm surprised the death rate from falling off statues whilst blind drunk isn't a lot higher here... but I love it!

This is my own wee corner of Glasgow, and this particular shot was taken at 5am after a fresh snowfall. Snow is actually pretty rare in Glasgow - usually it just rains - so I went out to enjoy it whilst it lasted!

Nice tips - honest too. Quit whinning about the rain - come to Alaska where we only notice the rain when it hurts! Happy birthday!

Please write more about Scotland, especially Glasgow. The guide books don't provide much information.
